Yo, it’s whaley.wav!

Born and raised on the island of Bermuda, I'm a Music Producer and Audio Engineer now based in Nottingham, UK.
I have been passionate about music since I was young, and grew up listening to a variety of genres of music - from Hip Hop/Rap, to R&B to Reggae. I specialise in beats for artists like G.A, Gunna, D-Block Europe, Drake, Matuê, PJ Houdini, Veigh and TZ Da Coronel.

I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Audio and Music Technology, so in addition to making beats, I have experience with mixing and mastering. I'm also an instrumentalist who plays the guitar and drums!

What are tracked out files/STEMS?Tracked out files/STEMS are a group of audio files where each file contains an instrument used in the beat (i.e one file for drums track, one for guitar etc.) . This option would be useful if you want to get a professional mix of your songs, or to create your own custom arrangement.

How do I credit the producer?Listing 'Prod. by whaley.wav' at the end of the song title and/or crediting in the song's description works great! For YouTube posts please tag my channel '@whaleywav' in the description.

Can I test out the beat before I purchase?Yes, the MP3 file for each beat is available to download for free. However, if you use the beat on monetized platforms, royalties will apply (Not royalty free). If you wish to use the beat for monetary purposes, you are required to purchase a lease.

How do I download the files once I have paid?An email will be sent to the address associated with your purchase. This email will contain a link to download your files, along with the terms and conditions for using the beat. Instructions about how to download your purchase will automatically be sent to the email address associated with your purchase.

What file formats do you offer?We offer MP3 (320 kbps), WAV (24 bit) and WAV Tracked out files/STEMS (24 bit)

Is the beat royalty free once I purchase?No. None of the purchases made are royalty free. This means that the producer still owns the copyright. You are able to use the beat for monetary purposes, however the producer(s) involved are entitled to 50% of the publishing splits. When I collaborate with another producer the publishing splits are as follows: 25% for me (the producer), 25% for the collaborator and 50% for the artist. Artists with a major label, please contact me at whaleywav@gmail.com to negotiate royalty splits or points.

What forms of payment do you accept?Paypal payments are accepted.

Are vocal tags removed once the beat(s) are purchased?Yes! All tags (watermarks) will be removed except for one "whaley.wav" tag (along with any collaborators tag) in the intro and/or outro of the instrumental. This tag will be lower in volume. If you would like the intro/outro tag removed, please email me, or contact me via the contact form. NOTE: You must purchase the PREMIUM LEASE or higher to request the removal.

How do I choose which lease to purchase?Look at the options above, decide what you need and go from there!

What if I stream or sell more than my lease allows?Once you have reached the allowed streaming/sales limit, as disclosed in the contract, you will need to buy another lease for the same beat or upgrade to the next licensing option. If you purchase the UNLIMITED lease then you never have to upgrade. If you go over the leasing terms in your lease, you can upgrade your license for a discounted price. Email me at whaleywav@gmail.com when you want to upgrade.

What are exclusive rights?Another option is to pay for an exclusive beat that will be yours to use exclusively. The beat will instantly be made unavailable for anyone else to purchase on the site and you will receive a contract giving you exclusive ownership. This prevents any other artist from being able to make a song using this beat in the future. This is important when customers want to produce original content. Please contact me via the contact form to negotiate exclusive pricing.

Will I own the beat once I purchase the license?No, I will still own the rights to all licensed beats purchased. However, if you purchase an exclusive lease I will remove the ability for anyone else to purchase a lease for said beat afterwards

What is beat leasing / licensing?(Details about the Licensing Agreement Options are available in the Lease Options section of this page) Leasing/licensing rights give you (the artist) certain rights for the use of the beat. Make sure to read the different leasing options above. Depending on the lease, you are allowed to stream, sell, and perform your song(s) using the beat(s). With a lease, the producer can sell the beat to numerous artists, as long as the beat hasn't been purchased as an exclusive lease. If you want to purchase a beat but not want other artists to use that same beat then you can always buy the beat for exclusive rights.
